BlackRock has transferred 5,847 Bitcoin and 26,269 Ether to Coinbase Prime, according to blockchain intelligence platform Arkham Intel. The combined transfer represents approximately $449.5 million in Bitcoin and $55.4 million in Ether, totaling roughly $504.9 million in digital assets moved to the institutional custody and trading platform.
The deposit to Coinbase Prime, which serves as an institutional-grade service offering custody, trading, and settlement capabilities, suggests potential preparation for derivative products or increased institutional trading activity. BlackRock, which oversees trillions in assets globally, has been actively building its cryptocurrency infrastructure following the approval of its Bitcoin spot exchange-traded fund earlier this year.
The transfer represents a significant custody decision by one of the world's largest asset managers, signaling ongoing confidence in Coinbase Prime's institutional services and potentially positioning BlackRock for expanded cryptocurrency market operations.
