Brazil's Olympic Committee (COB) and the Cardano Foundation have signed a technical cooperation agreement to deploy blockchain, artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things technologies across Brazilian sports infrastructure over a three-year period.
Under the partnership, COB will implement distributed ledger solutions for digital athlete and coach identification, verifiable credentials for certifications, fan engagement services, sports equipment tracking, and enhanced transparency in funding programs. The initiative represents a significant institutional adoption of Cardano (ADA) technology beyond traditional cryptocurrency use cases, positioning the blockchain as infrastructure for national sports governance.
Pilot projects are expected to launch within the coming months, marking an early test of how blockchain can streamline credential verification and financial accountability in large-scale sporting ecosystems. The three-year framework suggests a structured rollout rather than speculative implementation, reflecting growing institutional confidence in blockchain solutions for identity and supply chain management.
