Coinbase Launches Tokenized Bitcoin Yield Fund on Base Blockchain

Coinbase migrates Bitcoin Yield Fund to Base blockchain via partnership with Apex Group, launching tokenized share class for on-chain yield exposure.

Telegram

Coinbase has migrated its Bitcoin Yield Fund onto the Base blockchain, introducing a tokenized share class in partnership with financial services firm Apex Group. The move marks a significant expansion of real-world asset (RWA) offerings on Coinbase's layer-two Ethereum network.

The tokenized fund structure enables investors to access Bitcoin yield exposure through blockchain-native securities, combining institutional-grade custody and yield generation with the transparency and settlement efficiency of blockchain infrastructure. By leveraging Base, Coinbase positions the product to tap both retail and institutional demand for tokenized financial instruments while maintaining integration with its broader ecosystem.

The partnership with Apex Group, a regulated financial services provider, underscores institutional validation for on-chain yield products. This launch reflects growing institutional appetite for RWA tokenization and Coinbase's strategy to establish Base as a primary venue for traditional asset tokenization alongside decentralized finance applications.
