Ethereum Foundation has launched Kohaku, a software development kit designed to streamline the integration of private transactions into Ethereum-based applications and wallets. The SDK enables developers to embed support for Railgun and future integration of Tornado Cash and Privacy Pools without requiring users to navigate the technical complexity of privacy protocols.
The initiative aims to establish privacy as a default feature across Ethereum, abstracting away the underlying infrastructure from end users. Several wallet providers, including Ambire, are already preparing to implement Kohaku integration. Beyond privacy features, the SDK includes support for multi-signature schemes, hardware wallet compatibility, and post-quantum account security—addressing both current user needs and future cryptographic standards.
This development represents a significant step toward mainstream adoption of privacy-preserving technology on Ethereum, addressing longstanding developer friction in deploying encrypted transaction capabilities without sacrificing user experience.
