Loopring has announced the immediate cessation of its decentralized exchange, halting all trading and disabling its relayer infrastructure. The layer-2 protocol team pledged to automatically return all user funds to their wallets while covering transaction fees out of pocket.
The shutdown applies specifically to the Loopring DEX platform rather than the broader Loopring protocol itself. The team will independently distribute user assets across connected wallets, absorbing gas costs associated with the withdrawal process to ensure users face no financial burden.
This closure marks another addition to a recent wave of DEX shutdowns across the cryptocurrency sector, though Loopring's core layer-2 scaling technology remains operational. The announcement was made via X (formerly Twitter) by the Loopring organization.
