Internet Computer (ICP) Surges 24% on Binance Listing; Upbit Adds KRW Trading Pairs

Internet Computer (ICP) surges 24% on Binance listing while Upbit launches KRW trading pairs, expanding South Korean access.

Internet Computer (ICP) rallied 24% following its listing on Binance, while South Korean exchange Upbit simultaneously launched trading support for the token across KRW, BTC, and USDT pairs at 06:00 UTC. The dual-exchange expansion marked a significant liquidity injection for the ICP ecosystem, which has struggled to maintain institutional trading volume in major markets.

Upbit's introduction of Korean won trading pairs is particularly noteworthy, as it opens ICP to retail traders in South Korea—a market that has historically driven substantial volume for altcoins. The timing of simultaneous Binance and Upbit listings suggests coordinated exchange partnerships, a pattern that typically precedes sustained price recovery if fundamental developments support the rally.

At the time of the Upbit listing announcement, BTC was trading at $69,570.02, positioning ICP's gains within a broader market recovery. However, the 24% spike should be contextualized against Internet Computer's historical volatility; sustained momentum will depend on whether new exchange liquidity attracts institutional capital or merely redistributes existing holdings.
